There are lots of tide pools, and rocks on the beach and in the water. The Beach 1 star - they have sand that you can sit in under the canopy of trees (again jungle vibe), they have 3 docks, lots of chairs and cabanas we walked out around noon and was able to secure a cabana all to ourselves. There was a lighter on top of one of the pictures in the room (1057) on the right side, it stayed during our whole vacation (I wonder if it is still there?). The room could use a good dusting my daughter noticed the dust on the art. Bathroom was clean, the maid came when we asked and honored the do not disturb when we asked. We were able to keep up with GOT they have several HBO stations plenty of English and Spanish stations. We were offered and asked (2x) for a small refrigerator it never came so we just refilled the ice on a daily basis for cold water. We had to have our sheets replaced the first day there appeared to be some sort of stain on the cover, it was done by the time we returned to our room. The rooms: 3 Stars- they are your sanctuary, the air conditioning is very good, you could feel it from under the doors as you walked through the halls on our way in and out. If you are in to a stranded island type vacation where people are not visibly abundant all the time this is the property for you. If you are not into the jungle type get away re think this property. You are literally walking just under the canopy of a rain forest at time and others right at the canopy then down on the ground. It is a tropical rain forest-ty jungle resort. AMAZING Job!! Be advised there is a fare amount of walking at this resort anything you go to is a noticeable distance away dinner pool beach boutique your room. The nice surprise was, there was a whole tribe of them outside our balcony one night as we were leaving. I do know from previous trips that it is endangered, and it lives safely on this property. The wild life is right there, the staff gave my daughter a sheet that gave information about all of the local wildlife, birds, lizards, iguana (look up) and a small red cat monkey ant eater looking animal (really not sure). Every where you walk you are first in the Jungle, the board walk has trees growing through it which is very impressive. For conservationist this would be an excellent choice. The property: 5 Stars 2 Diamonds- for preserving the Jungle, the resort complex is literally built in to the jungle. Now having said that I will begin my review of the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya. So this review is not a passionate one but a reflective one. myself and my youngest 18 and have now been back for a few days, back into our routine. We stayed from Sun Jul 30 through Thu Aug 3 2017. I use points for the airfare and my timeshare for the accommodations. Suffice to say I am into vacations and different experiences. I have even been in Puerta Vallarta MX flying out the same day the hurricane arrived, been on rerouted cruises due to the same. My vacations over the years have included the mountains snow boarding with the kids, cruises from 3-9 days 10 to over 65 people in our group(s), land vacations on various islands throughout the Caribbean and extensive travel to Mexico, I have even been fortunate enough to go to Europe once. I would like to start by saying I am a seasoned traveler. The wild life is right there, the staff gave my daughter a sheet that gave information about all of the local wildlife, birds, lizards, iguana (look.
